Getting to know Paul Ellingsen

I am a licensed psychotherapist with a Master’s in Counseling from National University, as well as bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology. I have over 30 years of experience and have completed thousands of hours of counseling. I have worked across a broad spectrum of mental health settings, including private practice, CPS, Residential Treatment Centers, substance abuse facilities, psychiatric hospitals, and have conducted psychiatric evaluations in a hospital ER. I've seen it all and dealt with it all. My life’s work has been dedicated to assisting people in overcoming problems and living happier, more rewarding, and fulfilling lives.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am understanding, thoughtful, intuitive, sensitive, and emphatic, and I prioritize assisting each client in reaching their goals in counseling. My role is to help you sort thru these issues, gain clarity, gain understanding, increase your resolve, and develop tools that will enable you to dismantle and break free from negative patterns, painful beliefs, low self-esteem, depression, fear, past trauma–whatever it is.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
