"Hello, I'm Paula Porterfield-Izzo. Are you feeling anxious, worried, or despondent? Are you experiencing grief or self-doubt? Are you looking for assistance in conflict resolution? You don't need to navigate everything by yourself. Friends and family may want to help, but they can’t always be objective. Sometimes, it's necessary to reach out to a skilled Licensed Professional Counselor who can provide objective guidance. I have been successfully providing counseling since 1994 to people like you who are struggling with some of life's many challenges. During these difficult times, people are finding it helpful to seek counseling. I provide both couples counseling and individual counseling for adults, assisting people to move toward their life goals. When we first meet, we will discern your goals, and together we will come up with a treatment plan. Your therapy will be individualized based upon your personal strengths and needs. I will assist you in drawing from your strengths to achieve your life goals. I teach relaxation and mindfulness exercises to people experiencing anxiety and provide cognitive-behavioral therapy for depression. I assist couples in enhancing communication skills and identifying the impediments to maintaining their connection. For those seeking Christian Counseling, I integrate the Christian perspective into the counseling sessions. My specialties include anxiety, depression, family relationships, grief and bereavement, intimate and romantic relationships, life transitions, military and veteran support, PTSD, sleep disorders, spirituality, stress, and trauma. I am certified through the SonderMind Baseline Veteran Education Program and hold licenses as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor. If you feel ready to take the next step toward achieving your goals and finding peace, I am here to support you.
