Getting to know Paulina Polanco

My name is Paulina Polanco, LCSW. I have 7 years of experience helping individuals reach their goals, whether they are experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, family issues, or life transitions. I use a client-centered approach because I believe there is no one-size-fits-all solution. My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed, reflective, collaborative, and strength-based. I collaborate with adults to help them learn skills to cope with and manage anxiety and depression caused by life challenges and transitions. I believe in creating a safe space where individuals feel confident enough to become vulnerable. I ensure treatment is collaborative, valuing individual insight to better guide the healing journey. I decided to become a therapist because I believe everyone needs a space where they feel understood and validated. I aspire to help individuals through their journey by promoting resiliency. I work with each individual to identify attainable and measurable goals, all in an effort to help them reach their objectives during treatment. In the first session, my goal is to gather your information and understand the reasons that brought you to therapy while creating a safe and empowering space. I earned my Master's in Social Work from California State University, Northridge, and my Bachelor's degree from California State University, Los Angeles.

I was depressed and anticipating a dark spiral. She has helped me organize thoughts, recognize some patterns, and work through some strategies to help minimize the impact of the dark days.
