Percy Ford, LPC

Psychotherapist
AL
I like to take a deep dive into my clients’ presenting concerns, exploring them together until we discover the “pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.” I am very compassionate in my work and take my role as a therapist seriously, which is reflected in the care and dedication I bring to every client. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Tuskegee University in 1997, where I was also an All-Conference football player, and went on to earn my master’s degree from Argosy University in 2007.

Getting to know Percy Ford

I like to take a deep dive into my clients’ presenting concerns, exploring them together until we discover the “pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.” I am very compassionate in my work and take my role as a therapist seriously, which is reflected in the care and dedication I bring to every client. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Tuskegee University in 1997, where I was also an All-Conference football player, and went on to earn my master’s degree from Argosy University in 2007.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I take a solution-focused approach to care. Once we’ve identified the problem, I believe it’s important to focus on working toward solutions rather than staying stuck in the problem. I am direct and honest in my approach, and I don’t allow patients to fool themselves or avoid difficult truths. I tend to have a very straightforward, black-and-white communication style.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In the first session, I will spend time gaining insight into my patient’s presenting concerns, how they see those concerns, and what they believe the underlying issues are. This helps me develop a treatment plan that will support them in achieving the greatest therapeutic benefit from therapy.
