Princess Coleman, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
My name is Princess Coleman, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with over eight years of experience. I earned my Master's in Counseling from Universitas Nasional. I am based in the South Bay region of Los Angeles County in Southern California and work with clients statewide via Telehealth. I work with adults, individuals, and couples. My approach to therapy varies based on each client's needs. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Client-Centered, and Solution-Focused treatment to explore clients' stressors or triggers and identify a path to enhance their daily functioning. My style and approach are a good fit for adults 18 and over who may be dealing with life's challenges. These can include, but are not limited to, relationship stressors, academic, work, social pressures, grief, loss, and more. Stressors often manifest as anxiety and symptoms of depression. I work to build a relationship with each client by creating a safe, individualized environment that promotes healing and allows for the self-expression of thoughts and feelings. This approach empowers clients to safely process difficult emotions and build coping skills that foster hope and encourage positive change. My communication style is open, interactive, engaging, and honest. I believe in treating all with respect, sensitivity, compassion, and direct honesty. I want my clients to feel safe, not judged, heard, and encouraged. My journey to mental healthcare began with a passion for supporting others through their journeys and watching them flourish. I started as a peer support specialist and community organizer and spent many years as a floor counselor for an adolescent residential facility before becoming a clinical therapist, a role I have held for over eight years. Goal setting is a collaborative effort between the client and therapist, and I look forward to working together to support your growth and healing.
