Getting to know Quentin Kuntz

Hello, I'm Quentin. I became a psychologist in Michigan in 1982 and completed a Post-Master's in Alcohol and Drug Addiction in 1983 (SPADA) at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. With over 30,000 clinical hours under my belt, I've worked in various settings including outpatient, inpatient, partial hospitalization, and Intensive Outpatient units/programs. My journey in mental health has been diverse and deeply fulfilling. Since 2013, I've been a proud member of Transfamily of Cleveland, and I have extensive additional training in LGBTQ+ issues, Crisis Intervention, Code of Conduct, and personal counseling. My qualifications also include being a Psychometrist and Gestalt Therapist, with a particular expertise in projective testing. I prefer to be a didactic therapist, which means I often give 'homework assignments' to my clients. This approach helps to increase the value and intensity of our sessions, allowing for deeper reflection and growth between meetings. My therapeutic philosophy is rooted in the belief that utilizing any and all therapies that can assist my clients is paramount. Whether it's through traditional methods or more unique approaches like Dream Interpretation and psychodynamic methods, which I was trained in at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California, my goal is to support you in the most effective way possible. In addition to my clinical work, I am also an experienced Career Counselor with two decades of experience working at colleges. This background allows me to offer valuable insights and guidance for those navigating career-related challenges. Outside of my professional life, I am a published writer and poet. Writing is a passion of mine that not only enriches my life but also informs my therapeutic practice, offering a creative outlet for expression and exploration. If you're looking for a therapist who is dedicated, experienced, and willing to explore a variety of therapeutic techniques to support your journey, I invite you to reach out. Let's work together to find the path that best suits your needs and goals.
