You find yourself more annoyed than ever. There is never enough time, and you are running out of patience and positivity. Some days you want to throw away your phone. Some days you can't even relax in your home because everywhere you look there is something that needs to be done. You're chronically overbooked and constantly feel like you're failing. In your heart, you know there is a better way to do things, but your body and brain are too tired to figure it out anymore. Many people tell me that they feel like they are always the “bad guy.” They share that they find themselves living in a state of survival and don't know how to stop running in circles. If these thoughts and feelings sound familiar and you want to feel in control and successful, therapy can help. I am passionate about helping others rediscover joy and success. Many of my clients who are struggling with the challenges of anxiety, depression, ADHD, or being a stepparent have shared these experiences and feelings. We will work together to help you find a better understanding and helpful tools to feeling like you can enjoy life. I hold a Master's in Social Work from the University of Texas, Arlington, and a Bachelor's degree from the University of North Texas. My education and experience equip me to support you on your journey toward balance and well-being.

What should a new client know about working with you?

If you want to stop feeling like you're failing, I can help. I want you to be confident that you have a well ordered life that doesn't exhaust and defeat you. I want you to be able to spot problem areas and create solutions quickly. My clients tell me they feel like they can breathe after their first session. They feel more hopeful about their ability to manage their lives after we sit down and make a plan. My clients have said that they appreciate that I am kind and also real with them and that I just seem to get them.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When our work together is done, you will know how to take care of yourself without feeling guilty or like you are the bad guy. I want you to be able to spot problem areas and quickly create solutions that work for you and your family. I offer online therapy so that you can explore what you need to feel successful even while juggling the busy schedule of life.

We are firm believers that clients can progress further, faster when they are matched with the right therapist. For example, the right therapist will connect with the client and know how to structure sessions and guide a client to their desired result. We're often asked why we no longer accept insurance. While most understand that parts of our healthcare system are broken, not everyone understands just how complicated using their health insurance for mental health services can be. This is the reason only 20-30% of therapists are willing to even accept insurance anymore. We are part of the 70-80% that don’t want insurance companies telling therapists what therapy should look like. We don’t think it makes sense for an insurance representative who is not in the therapy room, not aware of your personal situation and doesn’t have professional mental health training to be making therapy decisions. In short, we no longer accept insurance because we got sick of playing the insurance game. While there are a few good insurance companies out there, we’ve found that most are more difficult to deal with than they are worth. Instead of wasting our energy fighting with them, we devote all our attention to helping our clients get the results they want in the most timely manner. We are more than happy to assist you in trying to take advantage of your out of network benefits. While we do not participate or directly communicate with insurance panels, we can provide you with a superbill (receipt of your payment for the treatment you received) to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Out of network benefits vary from insurance plans.
