"Hello, I'm Rachel, and I'm here to help you navigate life's challenges. I understand that coping and adjusting can be difficult, whether it's due to a major stressor or a series of smaller events that add up over time. These difficulties are not a sign of weakness; I've worked with many highly intelligent and successful individuals who have faced similar issues. Stress, anxiety, depression, and grief can become overwhelming, making us feel helpless and as if there's no way out. As an objective, non-judgmental mental health professional, I can help you identify tools to find the light at the end of the tunnel. After graduating from college, I practiced as a Licensed Professional Counselor for two years before earning my Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor credentials. My approach is very client-centered and holistic. During my five years in community mental health services, I gained valuable experience working with a diverse population and addressing a wide range of mental health and substance treatment issues. For the past six years, I have focused on working with adults dealing with mental health and/or substance use issues. I have extensive experience and education in treating trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, anger, Bipolar Disorder, Adjustment Disorder, and substance use issues. My specialties also include addiction, anger management, borderline personality disorder, dementia, medication evaluation, stress, trauma, dissociative disorders, family relationships, life transitions, medical issues/physical health, multicultural/diversity issues, psychosis/schizophrenia, somatic symptom disorder, spirituality, and suicidal ideation and/or self-harming. In our sessions, you can expect a supportive and empathetic environment where we work together to address your concerns. I believe in the power of a strong therapeutic relationship and strive to create a space where you feel heard and understood.
