Getting to know Rachel Cohen

I am currently offering both in-person and teletherapy sessions and am accepting new clients. I hold a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Hunter College, City University of New York, and am EMDR-trained through the Center for Excellence. I am dedicated to providing a warm, compassionate, and judgment-free environment. My goal is to help clients connect with their authentic selves and overcome any obstacles preventing them from living a fulfilling and healthy life.

What should a new client know about working with you?

As part of Rooted Psychotherapy, Mental Health Counseling PLLC, I provide trauma-informed care with EMDR therapy. In addition, I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches, including mindfulness techniques, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and talk therapy to support each clients individual needs.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We will work as a team to uncover what may be holding you back in life. It will be a collaborative process, and we will work towards reaching your goals. I have experience working with LGBTQ+, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, issues within relationships/marriage, couples, or other various diagnosis/life situations.
