What should a new client know about working with you?

I approach therapy from the perspective of how I can be the best therapist for you. I approach therapy from a strengths-based approach and incorporate modalities that best fit the needs of the client. I believe that everyone has different goals from therapy and my job is to help you reach those goals in a supportive environment. Modalities I often incorporate in sessions include CBT, attachment theory, exposure therapy, and play therapy . I'm passionate about working with clients with neurodiversity including autism and ADHD. I'm passionate about providing quality care for children and their families through open dialogue with parents in the therapy process to ensure that concerns are addressed, while ensuring a safe space for children and teens to their right to private counseling sessions to ensure a strong therapeutic relationship that helps them build on their strengths and self-confidence.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I engage in both talk therapy with adults and both talk therapy and play therapy with kids through adolescents. Sessions will focus on processing current challenges, cognitive restructuring, reframing events, recognizing negative patterns of behavior, understanding attachment patterns, engaging in exposure therapy, psychoeducation and understanding the importance of consistent self-care, and mindfulness. Clients will be encouraged to focus on goals for the week to practice self-care, mindfulness, and challenge negative patterns of behavior in working towards their therapeutic goals.
