Hi there, I'm Rachel! I'm Rachel Friedman, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s in Social Work from Barry University. I believe it is crucial for people to have an opportunity to be heard in a judgment-free relationship in order to heal. My approach I use a mix of approaches and tailor them to what may best serve the client. If the client indicates interest in a particular modality, I will also accommodate that. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction Strategies, and Psychoanalysis. I am trained in other approaches as well. My focus I am comfortable treating depressive disorders and anxiety disorders. I also work with PTSD and agoraphobia. Additionally, I treat many other disorders, including but not limited to ADHD/ADD, trauma and stressor-related disorders, and gender dysphoria. My communication style I strive to provide a judgment-free space. I like for sessions to feel casual so clients can comfortably share updates from week to week in a way that feels natural for them. I show clients positive regard and like to use a strengths-based perspective. My journey to mental healthcare I love helping others and wanted a career that would allow me to make meaningful connections. My passion for mental health is what drives my work. My goals for you Collaboratively! I will ask what you want to work on and then discuss what steps sound realistic to you. My first session with you I ask a lot of questions during the first session to develop a sense of understanding. I always review limits to confidentiality. I make sure clients know it’s okay to feel uncomfortable sharing all intimate details initially and that they can choose to reveal more information in later sessions if they are not ready to answer all questions honestly right away.
