Rachel Jackman, LPC

Psychotherapist
GA
Hi there, I'm Rachel! My name is Rachel Lee Jackman, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based south of Atlanta, Georgia. I work with adolescents and adults, focusing primarily on anger management, stress management, anxiety, and depression. I draw from several theories, with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) being my primary approaches. My approach I enjoy a hands-on approach with my clients. I'm here to help you navigate your struggles with specific questions, thoughts, and practical tools. My focus I work with people who struggle with various anxieties, anger management, stress management, and depression. My communication style I am a therapist who will do the work alongside you. Many past clients describe me as a calming presence, but I'm also not afraid to ask the hard questions and call out behaviors that may be counterproductive to your goals. My journey to mental healthcare It took me some time to find my direction. I always enjoyed helping others but wasn't sure in what capacity. One day, it just hit me that I was fascinated by the mind-understanding why we say or do certain things. I realized I wanted to learn how we can help ourselves with the tools available, even though I didn't know what those tools were at the time. I started with a bachelor's degree from Argosy University and completed my master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of the Cumberlands. My goals for you These sessions are about you. I help you create goals that are manageable and measurable based on what brought you into therapy. My first session with you Therapy can be scary, and I appreciate the courage it takes to take these steps with me. I will explain what therapy will look like and answer any questions you have. Most importantly, I want to get to know you and understand your struggles.
