Rachel Morgan, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
My name is Rachel Morgan, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I strive to build trust and understand you and your experiences to create lasting change. Let's work together to process and build goals around anxiety, grief, and relationship issues. I hold a Master's degree in Psychology from California State University, Chico, which has provided me with a strong foundation to support my clinical work. My approach I use an eclectic mix of approaches depending on the client, mainly client-centered, CBT, DBT, and Narrative therapies. My focus I typically work with individuals and couples. I am most comfortable addressing anxiety, depression, relationship dissatisfaction or conflict, mistrust, grief, and infidelity. My communication style I have a soft, warm tone during sessions. After the initial assessments, I tend to follow the client's lead with goals, pace, and structure. My journey to therapy I grew up as an only child, surrounded by adults and observing conflicts, joys, losses, and more. I knew I wanted to use my curiosity about relationships and interactions to help others find happiness and resolve conflicts. I'm driven by the power of the therapeutic connection, understanding, and helping clients heal. My goals for you During the first session, I ask about your goals and brainstorm 1-2 measurable goals together. I follow up in subsequent sessions to check how realistic they are and adjust if needed. My first session with you I am warm, gently smiling, and ask primarily background and history questions to get to know you. Building rapport is very important to me, so I try to pace the first session with you in the lead. I end by discussing goal-setting and checking if you feel we are a good fit so far.
