Getting to know Rachel Rachlinski

My name is Rachel Rachlinski, and I am a professional counselor licensed in Maryland (LCPC) and Louisiana (LPC). I have been in active practice for over 14 years and truly enjoy helping clients on their journey. My approach is to meet clients who are struggling in life and help them find a path that works best for them. I work with clients facing life transitions, anxiety, depression, work and school challenges, family issues, parenting challenges, relationship issues, and personal identity, including those from BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities, by exploring more about ourselves and who we want to be. My approach I meet clients where they are and provide the tools they need to be successful on their journey. This includes an integrative focus with an existential lens, using techniques from various theories such as CBT, person-centered therapy, DBT, play therapy, and others as necessary to meet each client's unique needs. My focus I typically work with adults (18+) navigating life challenges and transitions. This includes clients seeking to develop skills to manage specific issues, cope with life events or situations, or find an outlet to manage daily life while building skills to handle day-to-day challenges. My communication style I have a laid-back persona, focusing on validating clients, their situations, and feelings while gently and safely challenging them to encourage change and progress at their own pace and ability. My journey to mental healthcare I began my journey as a professional counselor later in life to fulfill my desire to help people better understand themselves and others. I have always been a searcher, hoping to find work I enjoyed. This is my third career and has become my life's passion. While it took me a while to find this path, I love helping people find the right direction for themselves.
