Seeking a new therapist can be overwhelming, especially in the midst of overcoming trauma, grief, or any distress. Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile. I look forward to learning more about you and hope that I can help you on your journey of self-discovery, whether it be healing from past wounds or finding your true, authentic self. My focus Although I am passionate about helping people recover from trauma, my clients come from all various backgrounds, including teens to mature adults. I have worked in addiction and dual diagnosis treatment settings, having gained experience in more acute crisis situations. I am fully trained in EMDR, as well as using CBT and DBT to help with anxiety. My approach My approach to therapy is to help the client find resiliency through empowerment and help them find the keys that they already have within themselves through trauma-informed techniques. I believe that we are capable of overcoming maladaptive beliefs stored in the body by forging a mind-body connection to restore our true, authentic selves. My communication style I approach therapy with the objective of empowering the client to create their own success. Although I am warm by nature and approach therapy with compassion and empathy, I can be direct when needed, if the client needs to be challenged with irrational beliefs that may be limiting their success. Rapport is vital in exploring trauma and healing. My journey to mental healthcare After working in the fitness industry for over ten years, I became passionate about helping people recover from trauma and eating disorders upon reading "The Body Keep's the Score." I use my lived experience of overcoming my own traumas and past struggles with disordered eating to provide a safe space for clients who need true empathic support.
