Getting to know Rachel Robertson

Welcome! I’m Rachel. Are you struggling with a difficult life situation? Are you looking for lasting and meaningful change? I’d like to provide you with a supportive space to deal with what is occurring in your life. Dealing with the stresses and challenges of everyday life can be hard, and when you add in relationship issues, anxiety or depression, or personal struggles – it can be overwhelming. If you’re looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation, or you’re just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to helping you achieve your goals. I will encourage you to be kind to your body and mind as you work to solve your problems. I am a firm believer in the mind-body connection. My clients are encouraged to be diligent about routine medical care, and I often consult with healthcare workers and fitness experts to gain insight and knowledge for my clients. When you feel better about yourself, you can feel more optimistic about the future. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy takes courage and I am proud of you for getting started. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I enjoy helping people and truly believe that every individual deserves to lead a happy, fulfilling life. Let’s work together!

What should a new client know about working with you?

My hope is to provide clients with the confidence and tools they need to meet life's challenges successfully. During our initial session, we will review the intake forms and explore the client’s identified problem, whether it is a specific situation or a more general emotion. Some may prefer a brief, goal-directed series of sessions with a structured approach, while other clients may benefit from supportive discussion of their struggles and emotions. In either case, I will challenge you to consider your deeply held thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors to figure out what’s working…and what isn’t! You cannot always control what happens in your life, but you can control your reactions and behaviors. I’ll help you focus on what you CAN change - that's where true growth and healing occurs.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

Wonderful experience with Rachel
Rachel has been fabulous guiding me through postpartum rage, marital issues, pregnancy trauma and just day-to-day conflict as a mom. She challenges me to view situations in a different, more healthy perspective and it has been helping me a lot. I look forward to my sessions with her every week.
