Choosing to begin therapy can be a daunting decision, but it's a huge step on the path to healing. I recognize the courage behind that decision. My mission is to help you navigate the journey ahead and ensure that you never have to travel it alone. My specialty in trauma treatment, combined with a client-centered approach, allows me a unique perspective that can provide much-needed support and a sense of safety. Utilizing techniques tailored specifically to your unique needs, I am able to walk alongside you as we work together to navigate some of life's darkest times. My approach I use a specialized form of therapy called Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). My approach is very much strengths-based, meaning I believe you already have everything you need to heal. Sometimes, we just need help sorting out the pieces. That's where I come in. I have trained especially for trauma treatment using EMDR and have advanced training that allows me to also incorporate theories of attachment and Internal Family Systems into the EMDR process. By providing the precise method of treatment and providing an environment of safety, your brain and nervous system can begin to do what it is naturally designed to do - successfully reprocess trauma and return to a healthy state. My focus My ideal clients are those who are ready to begin a challenging but very rewarding journey. While trauma treatment is not easy, it offers profound results. Prior to becoming a therapist, I served as a police officer for more than a decade. Those experiences in Law Enforcement allowed me a unique ability to understand the challenges faced by many First Responders as well as a more personal perspective for understanding the often challenging position of trauma survivors. Additionally, since becoming a therapist, I have worked closely with many Veterans as we, together, navigated the overwhelming memories of war and the specific challenges of military life.
