Getting to know Rachel Sharp

Hi there- I'm Rachel I am a therapist in Illinois with nine years of experience working in various community mental health centers in the Chicagoland area. I graduated from Northwestern University in 2014 with my degree in Counseling Psychology with specialization in Child and Adolescent populations. I specialize in treatment of trauma (trained in EMDR), depression, anxiety and relationship problems, anger issues. Populations I have worked with extensively include adolescents and young adults (emerging adulthood issues). I have worked with couples, individuals and families. I use art and music in my sessions as well as creative outlets to get deeper. I have an attachment-focused, psychodynamic and emotion focused approach to treatment. I am culturally sensitive, LGBTQ+ affirming

What should a new client know about working with you?

The first session or two will be information gathering and getting acquainted with one another. I will then move into conversations about what goals the client would like to work on and what desired changes they are looking for in their lives.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
