I am certified with the Academy of Cognitive Therapy, and am able to deliver competent, life-changing cognitive behavioral therapy techniques and empower you to become your own therapist outside of the therapy hour. My focus I have had the honor and opportunity of working with children, teens, and adults (individually) who have experienced depression, anxiety, trauma, suffered from low self-esteem, lack of confidence, struggled with emotional disability, and difficulty managing everyday life. My communication style In the therapy hour, my communication style is agenda-focused, collaborative, and feedback is often ask of you to see if the strategies are helpful. This experience will be led by you, and I strive to provide a safe, non-judgmental experience. My journey to mental healthcare My journey to becoming a provider started when I first worked with inpatient individuals with disordered eating behaviors. I then found my way into the local nonprofit organizations and community mental health, as well as in school settings. I have had the honor of witnessing people of all ages and cultures experience healing with therapy. My goals for you Together, we will create measurable goals and check in frequently during sessions to see if progress has been made and what, if any, barriers are making themselves known. My first session with you The initial assessment interview is typically longer than a weekly session. The purpose is to determine the best course of treatment for you, create treatment goals, and a safety plan.
