Getting to know Ramona Taylor

Hi there, I'm Ramona! My name is Ramona Taylor. I am a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist practicing in both Hawaii and California. I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Hope International University. I specialize in brief therapy and experiential therapies. I approach therapy with the goal that each session is meaningful and that clients are able to experience noticeable changes in a relatively short time. My approach I recognize each person has unique strengths, talents, and challenges that make certain therapies more effective than traditional “talk therapy.” This is why I use a variety of approaches such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy), Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Experiential Therapies (Art, Mindfulness, Narrative, DBT, and Gestalt techniques) in my practice. My focus I work with adult individuals who are suffering from depression, relational problems, anxiety, ADHD, and PTSD. Additionally, I am a Christian therapist with additional training to work with individuals who prefer therapy to integrate their Christian perspective. My communication style Sessions are a place where healing happens through exploring solutions, experiencing the present, and experimenting with new approaches and perspectives. It is a process of discovering, understanding, and fully experiencing who you are in the moment so you can relate to yourself and others in more satisfying and genuine ways. My journey to mental healthcare As a former elementary school teacher, author, and artist, I have always found joy in helping people discover their strengths, identify and develop who they are, and express all parts of themselves uniquely. Being a therapist as a second career was a natural progression for me, as I delight in freeing people from limited and sometimes debilitating labels so that they can live their lives uniquely and fully.
