“Raquel is one of those therapists you look forward to seeing every week. She's not a "tough love" therapist, but not an enabler either. She guides you to dig deeper and think of things in a way you hadn't before, even if it's not what you'd like to hear, but she does it with warmth and compassion.”

Getting to know Raquel Henkel

Hi there, I'm Raquel. Do you get overwhelmed by feelings of anxiety, depression, and low self-worth? Do you feel like no matter how hard you try, you will never be good enough? Are you struggling to find satisfaction in your life? I help women of all ages discover their strengths and resources to become the version of themselves they want to be. Together, we will identify maladaptive thoughts and habits that create barriers to meeting outcomes and replace these with more balanced thinking and behaviors. I use a mix of Cognitive-Behavioral and Solution-Focused modalities to get to the root of core beliefs that keep individuals stuck in daily living, while also engaging in resource talk that instills hope for a preferred future. I hold a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support you effectively. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, or the difficult changes that come with life, I'm here to help you. Therapy can be a process that feels uncomfortable but can also be incredibly rewarding and life-changing. The decision to seek help is a difficult one, but be assured that it is the right one. I will provide a listening ear and an open heart as we dive in together to foster healing and growth at a pace that feels comfortable to you. Let's work together so that you can begin living life to the fullest.

What should a new client know about working with you?

At the initial visit, I will be doing a comprehensive intake about the nature of what brings you to therapy. I will be doing a lot of listening and processing to have a full picture of what is going on. We will also talk through goals that you may want to work on as you engage in the process of therapy. This will give us both an idea of what an effective treatment plan might look like for you as we meet for subsequent sessions. During our sessions, we will explore challenges that you experience, talk through actionable solutions to combat barriers, and tailor interventions that bring us back to your desired outcome. As therapy progresses, you will begin to feel like the strong, capable person you were meant to be as you will have a greater understanding of the strengths that you already possess and recognize those as resources that you can use when experiencing challenges in life.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

I was not a believer in virtual therapy, I didn’t think I could truly connect with someone that way. Raquel was warm inviting and makes it super easy to relate to her and open up.
