Ray Armstrong, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
I have over 20 years of experience in this field, and my license number is 42706. I believe clients are the experts in their own lives, and my job is to assist and guide you to your potential. I am strength-based and focus on building your skills to navigate personal struggles, family dynamics, and the pressures and stress of daily demands. In a collaborative approach, we work together to determine the best way to access your inner resources and solutions. My approach I use a variety of therapeutic approaches; however, I find solution-focused, narrative, and client-centered methods work well. These approaches are very mindful of the client’s specific needs and are respectful. My focus I have experience working with all ages and backgrounds. Typically, I work with young adults, middle-aged individuals, couples, and families. I see clients for many reasons but have more experience dealing with depression and anxiety. My communication style It feels very relaxed to work with me. I try my best to make clients feel completely at ease, comfortable, and trusting enough to open up and share. I can push clients, but always in a respectful and collaborative manner. My journey to mental healthcare I am drawn to this work for several reasons. The first was my own struggles growing up and experiencing significant trauma. I started therapy and was amazed at how much it helped my self-esteem, confidence, and sense of self-worth. I eventually thought I could assist people and be as sensitive and understanding to their issues as my own therapists were to me. I am driven by seeing people transform into the person or version they want to be, develop skills to navigate struggles, and learn how to cope better in a demanding and high-pressure world. My goals for you We set goals together using SMART goals—specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound. These goals are tracked and monitored during therapy and adjusted as needed.
