Psychotherapist
FL
If you are looking for a gender/sexual identity-affirming, trauma-informed therapist who uses music, art, and movement to help you process trauma and let go of beliefs that hold you back, then you have come to the right place! As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and Registered Dance/Movement therapist, I integrate traumatic and somatic practices to help clients release trapped emotions in their bodies built from traumatic experiences. Additionally, I am a Certified Sylvotherapy Practitioner and try to incorporate nature into my practice as much as possible. In our sessions together, I'll create a secure and supportive environment where you can freely express yourself. We'll explore your experiences of trauma and childhood to connect the dots between your past and your current symptoms. Our objective is for you to fully embody your experiences and emotions, rather than feeling disconnected from them. We'll work together to develop coping mechanisms and strategies that empower you to navigate difficult emotions and find inner peace. I favor working with open-minded individuals who are eager to explore unique and creative healing techniques. Together, we can embark on a journey of self-discovery and empowerment.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I was drawn to trauma work after interning with a trauma response team and witnessing firsthand the effect violence and trauma can have on individuals. Sometimes it is difficult to talk about the trauma, so I use Expressive Arts Therapy to offer other methods of expressing yourself and processing the trauma. If you have been in therapy for many years, understand yourself and your trauma, but still struggle to let go of anxiety and depression, somatic therapy is the right tool for you. I enjoy using somatic therapy to help people feel their emotions and feel safe in their bodies, as well as integrating the mind to reframe negative self-beliefs. Additionally, I am passionate about working with the LGBTQIA+ community and creating a safe space for individuals to explore their thoughts and feelings with acceptance and celebration of their identity.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I am a person-centered therapist - I understand that you know yourself better than anyone, and my task is to help you understand yourself on a deeper level. I am curious about you and your process, so I will ask you questions to lead you to a deeper understanding and acceptance.
