Getting to know Rebekah Barnes

I’m a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) based in Florida who brings both clinical training and a heartfelt, faith-centered approach to therapy. At Vibrant Vine Therapy, I provide a safe, compassionate space for individuals — especially women, adoptive and foster families, non-profit workers (including ministry) and those navigating major life transitions — to find healing, clarity, and renewed hope. My specialties include anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, perinatal and postpartum mental health, grief, self-esteem, life transitions, and adoption/foster-care issues. I draw on evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, attachment-based work, and compassion-focused approaches. Because my work is faith-informed, I welcome clients who value integrating their spiritual beliefs with mental-health care. I believe therapy can honor both inner emotional healing and spiritual growth — partnering Scripture-rooted wisdom with clinically sound tools for resilience, self-compassion, and lasting transformation. Outside of therapy, I understand the demands of caregiving, ministry, and family life (as a wife, mother, and pastor’s wife), and I deeply appreciate the courage it takes to seek help. I’m here to walk with you — to listen without judgement, to support you with empathy, and to guide you toward healing with heart, faith, and practical skills. If you’re facing anxiety, emotional overwhelm, trauma or grief, a major life transition, or parenting/adoption challenges — I welcome you to reach out for a free 15-minute consultation to see if we’re a good fit.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Starting therapy takes courage, and my goal is to make you feel seen, safe, and supported from the very first session. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in both clinical expertise and (when desired by the client) a faith-informed perspective. You can expect a space where you can show up as your full self without judgment. I work at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Together, we’ll explore what’s weighing on your heart, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and build practical, evidence-based tools to help you move toward peace, clarity, and healing. I use approaches such as CBT, attachment-based work, DBT strategies, and compassion-focused practices to support lasting change. You won’t be rushed. You won’t be talked over. You’ll be met with authenticity, compassion, and presence. My goal is to help you understand your story, strengthen your emotional resilience, and reconnect with hope. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you come. Just bring yourself. I’ll walk with you from there.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When we meet for the first time, we’ll spend the session—usually 50-60 minutes — getting to know each other. This includes: some basic paperwork or intake forms (if needed), a gentle discussion of what brought you to therapy, and how I can help. We’ll talk about how I work: the types of therapy I draw on, the therapeutic approaches I lean toward, what confidentiality and boundaries look like, and what you can expect if we begin working together. We’ll collaborate to set some initial goals — maybe short-term (e.g., stabilize emotions, manage anxiety, find coping tools) and/or longer-term (e.g., deeper healing, processing trauma, life transitions, relational or parenting/adoption issues). Once we begin regular work together, sessions typically follow a structured but flexible flow (usually 52 minutes). This structure is designed to promote safety, consistency, and meaningful growth over time. 1. Check in (5-10 min) — We start by grounding in the present—how your week has been, what’s changed since our last visit, and what you’d like to focus on today. 2. Core Work (35-40 min) here is where we process current challenges, explore patterns (thoughts, feelings, triggers, relational dynamics, identify triggers), bring awareness to what's underlying what you're experiencing. Depending on what you need we may also use evidence-based tools (such as CBT, attachment-based strategies, compassion-focused interventions, and trauma informed strategies. Because I offer a faith-informed lens (for those who desire it). 3. Reflection and Integration (5-10 min)- Toward the end of the session, we pause to reflect — what insights emerged, what felt significant, what you might take with you into your daily life. We may set small “homework” or practices/skills to try between sessions (coping tools, self-care practices). 4. Closing and planning (5-10 min) - we will conclude with scheduling the next session, any logistical details, and celebrate the growth that often ebbs & flows.
