I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina with over 8 years of experience as a psychotherapist. I also supervise LCSW-A professionals working toward full LCSW licensure. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. My experience includes working with clients aged 5 and up, in both inpatient hospital and outpatient settings. I have supported individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, assertiveness, self-esteem, women’s issues, and life changes. My therapy style is warm, interactive, and eclectic. I tailor the therapy approach to each person, as I do not believe in one-size-fits-all treatment. I treat everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My approach incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Existential Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy, among other theories. I also provide Christian Therapy when requested. I do not believe in labels—no one is defined by their diagnosis. I waited over 15 minutes for the therapist —sent her a message through the app with no response and eventually ended up calling Rula (the company this therapist works through) to see what was going on. The rep “Alejandro” laughed/joked & made light of the fact that the therapist had not shown up. That made me feel even worse. After that call, a different Rula rep called and apologized on behalf of the therapist who he said had an emergency. He offered me an appointment the next day. I declined, because I work evenings. I understand things happen. I wish the therapist herself would’ve briefly reached out/messaged me to explain what was going on. I scheduled this appointment weeks beforehand and arranged my work schedule around the appointment only to be no-showed with no direct communication from the therapist. As I’m writing this review almost a day later—still no follow up from her. This could have been handled better. Would I recommend? Probably not.
