Reginald Bruno, LCSW

Psychotherapist
FL
My approach to therapy is to meet my clients where they are, not where I or they think they should be. I work with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, or trauma related to relationships or family. During initial sessions, we delve deeply into the issues and collaborate to create a plan to help you get your life back. Most clients see gradual symptom relief within the first month and sustained improvement thereafter. The most common theoretical approaches I use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Schema Therapy, Mindfulness, Guided Imagery, Solution-Focused, and Problem-Solving. Life issues can overwhelm us with decision-making, problem resolution, and prioritizing for better living. My client focus is adult men and women. I do some family and couples counseling but prefer individual and group treatment at this time. Creating the right tone and environment during sessions is crucial for fostering a therapeutic relationship and positive outcomes. I provide a welcoming, safe, nonjudgmental space with warm greetings and conversations. I ensure confidentiality and trust. I am empathic and compassionate, using active listening, encouragement, and asking for clarification when needed. I employ respect and collaboration, honoring autonomy and self-determination. I maintain a hopeful, positive environment with ongoing encouragement of growth. I am culturally competent and responsible, tailoring my practice to each client’s cultural context to foster inclusivity and support. I hold a Doctor of Education (EdD) in Human Services Administration from Nova University and a Master’s in Social Work from The Catholic University of America, which inform my comprehensive, client-centered approach to therapy.
