Getting to know Dr. Reid Kenary

As a licensed clinical psychologist with a PsyD in Clinical Psychology from William James College and a Bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College, I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space built on a trusting connection where together we can explore whatever you bring into therapy. My integrative approach is client-centered, collaborative, and tailored to meet your unique needs. In addition to addressing the presenting problem, I consider all aspects of your life to enhance our work and support your flourishing. During my internship at Harbor Care Health and Wellness Center, I gained valuable experience that informs my practice today. It is truly an honor to be invited into the lives of my clients, and I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to work together.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Do you struggle with unhelpful patterns of behavior? Are you having a hard time understanding yourself? Do you feel unfulfilled in life? If so, I encourage you to reach out. I can help. Healing is not linear nor is it easy, but you don’t have to do it alone. Together, we will restore balance and peace to your life. I see individuals, couples and families dealing with the following issues, among others: Anxiety, Depression, OCD, Chronic Pain, Chronic Illness, ADHD, Relationship Challenges, Life Transitions, Grief/Loss, Trauma, Marital/Premarital Issues, Sleep Issues

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Once we decide to move forward, we will schedule an initial appointment that lasts 60 minutes. During this time, I will hear what brought you into therapy and what you hope to work on with me. I will ask you questions and you will have a chance to ask me questions, as well. This will be a time for us to decide if we are a good therapeutic match and whether we want to continue to work together. Ongoing sessions are typically scheduled weekly, though frequency varies depending on your individual needs. Sessions last 55 minutes. I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield. For those with other insurances, I provide monthly superbills that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement based on your out-of-network benefits.
