Remi Larson, LCSW

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Remi! My name is Remi Larson (they/xe/elle), and I am a licensed clinical social worker. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California, a Master’s in Public Health from California State University, Northridge, and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. I believe that while our past informs who we are today, it does not have to dictate where we are going tomorrow. I hope to work with you so we can understand how your experiences have created patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving, and how we can use this knowledge to recover from the past and create a life that feels worth living. My approach I work from a client-centered perspective that is strengths-based, trauma-informed, sex-positive, and trans and poly-affirming. Cultural humility is central to my practice, and I am open to learning about the many identities that contribute to who you are. My therapeutic approach is eclectic and incorporates evidence-based practices like CBT, DBT, EMDR, and psychodynamic principles. I also integrate neurobiology into my work so you can understand why your brain operates the way it does and how we can leverage this knowledge to improve your life and mental well-being. Therapy with me brings together treatment modalities tailored uniquely to you, your goals, and your needs. I believe you are the expert on your life, and I am here to help you find and utilize the resources within yourself to build a life worth living. My focus I specialize in working with queer and trans individuals and those transitioning to a lower level of care. I often work with folks coping with anxiety, depression, BPD, trauma, identity exploration, relationship challenges, life transitions, and more. My communication style I strive to create a space where you feel at ease exploring the corners of who you are and showing up as your authentic self.
