Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Rena! Are you looking for a warm therapist to provide a safe space to heal from emotional abuse? This is my specialty. My name is Rena Bonesio, and I am a licensed clinical social worker with a Master’s in Social Work from Arizona State University. Because most of my clients have experienced abuse, they come to me with high anxiety, depression, or difficulties in relationships, and I can help with these challenges. My approach I like to help clients get to the root of the problem. When you are ready, I can guide you to heal from traumatic experiences with Brainspotting and/or Image Transformation Therapy, whichever you prefer. I will also give you practical tools to help change your thinking and teach you how to use your body to manage your feelings. Additionally, I can support you in developing communication skills to establish better boundaries. My focus I work with individual adults ages 18 to 80 who are struggling with anxiety and depression, as well as the effects of post-traumatic stress, such as intense feelings that come on suddenly and are hard to control. I also help people who find it difficult to say "no" to those in their lives. My communication style My clients feel safe and accepted working with me because I believe we’re all doing the best we can and that there are good reasons why we struggle with the things we struggle with. My journey to mental healthcare I’m drawn to helping people who’ve experienced emotional abuse because I experienced it myself, along with other types of abuse and neglect. I’ve done this healing work myself and sought out training in therapies to help others who have experienced abuse, too. It satisfies my soul to watch others heal and come into who they were truly meant to be—powerful, authentic, and free. My goals for you I ask clients what they want to work on and how they want to be different. The goals we identify together will guide what we do in therapy.
