Renee Prince, LCSW

Psychotherapist
MD
Hi there, I'm Renee! Hey! I'm Renee. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Board-Certified Supervisor with a Master’s in Social Work from New York University. I have been in the mental health field for 20 years. I am here to support you along your journey to healing by providing a safe, nonjudgmental space for you to express your thoughts and emotions while addressing challenges with trauma, depression, stress, and/or anxiety. Your personal story is important. I look forward to working with you. My approach I primarily use a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach along with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other approaches based on your individual needs. I believe therapy is not one-size-fits-all. My focus I typically work with adolescents ages 12-19 and women in their 20s to 40s. The conditions I treat most often include difficulties with self-esteem/identity, trauma, anxiety, job/school stress, parenting, major life decisions and transitions, and challenges in relationships and family issues. My communication style Each client is unique with different needs and preferences. Some may need a more direct approach, others a more passive style. In every session, my intent is to provide a space where clients can be themselves—to cry or laugh—as long as it feels therapeutic. My journey to mental healthcare My journey to become a therapist started at age 9 when I realized teaching was limited to academic support. I wanted to help on a deeper level. I decided to be a counselor because of both positive and negative experiences with helpers during my childhood. Here I am, determined to make this process positive for others! My goals for you I strongly believe collaboration in setting goals empowers clients to set goals that feel right to them, with my support and guidance on the side.
