I am Renee Williams, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from National University. My approach to therapy is primarily Cognitive Behavioral in nature, while also drawing from various other therapeutic tools tailored to each client’s unique needs.
My approach
I prefer a client-centered and strength-based approach to therapy. My main goal is to build rapport with my clients and support them in achieving their life goals. I am a great motivator and firmly believe that everyone can reach their true potential with the right tools and guidance.
My focus
I generally work with adults, couples, and families, specializing in depression, anxiety, and self-esteem issues. I place strong emphasis on healthy communication and often incorporate life coaching techniques to enhance overall well-being.
My communication style
My communication style is friendly, supportive, and comforting. I provide a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients can express themselves openly. When necessary, I gently confront maladaptive behaviors with care, love, and purpose.
My journey to therapy
Since childhood, I have been passionate about helping people solve relational problems. I would read "Dear Abby" daily and was fascinated by the questions and responses. I knew early on that this career would allow me to thrive and make a positive impact in people’s lives.
My goals for you
After assessing a client, I ask what goals they wish to work on. I focus on a holistic approach to healing, encouraging improvement in all areas of life. I often guide clients to create vision boards to help map out their purpose-driven lives.
