Richard Denno, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hello! I am Ricky, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master's in Counseling from California State University, Fresno. I believe in being fully present with my clients and responding to their diverse needs-that is my top priority. My own journey began when I sought counseling at 18 after experiencing existential dread soon after high school graduation. That experience inspired me to pursue therapy myself. My main therapeutic approach is cognitive behavioral therapy. As I work with different individuals, I strive to understand the thoughts and feelings that influence their behaviors. I also enjoy incorporating psychoanalysis to explore the origins of these behaviors and logotherapy, which focuses on finding meaning in life. I have years of experience supporting clients dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, and life adjustments. Currently, I am expanding my expertise through research in areas such as sleep, loneliness, and faith-related issues. I aim to create a therapeutic environment tailored to each client's unique needs. While I often provide psychoeducation about their concerns during sessions, I remain flexible-responding with empathy, compassion, and active listening if a different approach is needed. My passion for helping others comes from a personal understanding of the value therapy provides. In our first session, I will introduce myself, ask general questions, and gather background information to better understand your presenting problem and get to know you. Together, I hope to guide you by sharing evidence-based practices and supporting your journey toward healing and growth.
