Getting to know Richard Kepple

Hi, my name is Richard Kepple, MS, LMFT. I work with individuals, couples, and families. My theoretical orientation is CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). I have been practicing for over 17 years and have an office in Fountain Valley, CA. I am equipped to do in-person or telehealth sessions. My background started with working with incarcerated youth and children in a church setting. My approach is direct, with humor and compassion. My approach My approach is CBT and Narrative. I work primarily with couples because that population seems to be more in need than any other. My approach begins with a conversation, and my goal is to understand a person's circumstances deeply and to meet them there. My focus I don't believe I have an "ideal" client. My most influential work is with clients who truly desire change and are intentional about working through the process. My communication style My tone is relaxed, engaged, and includes a measure of humor mixed with compassion to help people live the lives they deserve. My journey to therapy I started working with kids in a church ministry in 1987. Then, in 1999, I began working with kids in the OC Probation Department. Around 2002, I decided to return to school and earn my Master's in Counseling from California State University, Fullerton. I graduated in 2005 and have worked with kids, families, adults, and couples since then. My goals for you I believe people should be allowed the opportunity to hear what needs to be discussed based on my life experiences and training. I will be the first to admit that I don't know everything. I see myself as a coach and know that I have learned things from my work with clients. My first session with you I like to offer a free 15-minute consultation over the phone before our first session to make sure you feel comfortable and to determine whether I can genuinely help you.
