I have a Bachelor's in Economics from the State University of New York, Buffalo, and a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. I am licensed by the state of North Carolina as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and as a Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS). I have been working in human services for the past 26 years, with 4 years of counseling experience in a variety of settings. I have also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse. I enjoy helping people through the use of therapeutic models such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).
