Richard S Clark, LMFT

Richard S Clark, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hello, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of California. I earned my AB in English from the University of California, Berkeley (UCB) and my Master's in Counseling from the University of San Francisco (USF). Because of my personal experiences with having seizures when I was younger, I now concentrate on addressing the emotions, hopes, and dreams of people who are dealing with the multiple, and oftentimes consuming, challenges of living with a seizure disorder. Please let me know if I can help bring a more balanced picture to your life and to those you value and love as well.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I strive to create a safe, inclusive space where you feel heard, understood, and comfortable (but also challenged) so you can openly and honestly express your thoughts and feelings without judgment. My goal is for us to develop a therapeutic and collaborative relationship where we work together to explore what you're going through and work towards your goals. I compare therapy to driving a car. You are behind the wheel as the driver and in charge of taking us to your destination. As your therapist, I'm in the passenger seat, and I'm honored to be along for the ride. I hope to be a support, advocate, and listening ear for you to help you face any bumps in the road along the way.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
