Getting to know Rick Melton
Right now you are probably scared. You know something needs to change, but you don’t know where to start. You don't know if this works, and you're at the point where you are afraid that nothing will work. We have all been there, me included. I understand, and I do not judge.
I have been a clinical therapist for the past 20 years. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. In my time, I have worked with adolescents, adults, couples, geriatric patients, and LGBTIQQ individuals. What I have discovered in all my years of practice is that people all want the same things. We want to know that we are loved, valued, and respected.
I can promise you that when you speak to me, you will be the only person that matters. You will not find judgment, and you will not find blame. We will work together, at your own pace. I will help you find hope, unwavering support, and the motivation to change the things in your life that you feel need to be changed. Together, we can improve your life. I'm here whenever you're ready.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Our sessions together stem from you. We discuss what you want and make plans based not upon what I think will work best for you but what you think works best for you. We will tailor interventions with you in mind.I always say, if an intervention does not work for you, it does not work.
I can't say that the road will always be easy. I can't say that you will leave every session feeling amazing. But I can promise you that I will be with you throughout the entire process. We will celebrate the small victories and examine the failures for the lessons that they may teach.Together, we will find ways for you to live a happier, healthier life.

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
