Robert Sperring, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hello. My therapeutic approach honors the past but points to now and to the future. My goal for you is the "restoration of self" before the pain, with more happiness and higher functioning in all aspects of your life. Together, we will walk through your struggles and come to the other side back to who you are-stronger, happier, and better able to deal with this thing called life, whether it is for you as an individual, a couple, or a family. Give yourself a chance to reclaim who you are and want to be. My approach includes Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Adlerian, Experiential, Attachment, Solution-Focused, Imago, and Gottman. My focus is working with individuals, families, and couples. I also work with adolescents and adoption-related issues such as attachment. My communication style is empathetic but direct. Working with me will feel challenging, yet you will know that I am with you on this journey. My journey to therapy began with witnessing how painful events and memories, when left untreated, can create a life of despair, uncertainty, and low self-esteem. Witnessing this became my driving force to become a therapist. I hold a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Hope International University. My goals for you include homework and progress summaries fueled by a gentle but firm push. Our first session will begin with 15 minutes of getting to know each other, then we will jump into the deep end of the pool.
