I like to meet the client where they are, discuss common goals for counseling, and work together to help them accomplish those goals. My focus I am a person-centered therapist. I believe that each of us has inside what we need to be successful and be the best version of ourselves. I have a collaborative approach to therapy. My communication style I am a good listener, and I have a collaborative communication style that helps me work with the client to help them achieve their goals. My journey to mental healthcare I have always lived a life of service, even as a child, being involved in service groups and faith-based groups that helped others. I started my career as a social worker and decided I wanted to be a therapist to help heal those I was providing services to. My connections with Child welfare, crime victims, and the military, as well as substance recovery, led me to the field of trauma and trauma recovery. My goals for you We create a road map of where someone would like to be in a month, three months, six months, etc., and set goals to help them achieve that vision. My first session with you Our first session involves getting to know one another and discussing your thoughts about and goals for therapy. We will discuss goals for the next several sessions and answer any questions you have about me, my experience, and the therapeutic process.
