Getting to know Roby Murphy

Hi there, I'm Roby! Hi, I'm Roby Murphy. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Columbus, Georgia, and I love helping teens and young adults navigate life's ups and downs. Through telehealth, I work with clients across the state, focusing on managing stress, anxiety, depression, and life changes with care and understanding. My approach I tailor my therapeutic approach to each client, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Brief-Solution Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. These methods allow me to meet clients where they are and empower them as we navigate their unique journey together. My focus I've found that teens and young adults are my area of focus due to my unique style. The transitions during this time frame can be a huge struggle for different reasons. I help clients learn to navigate the ever-growing changes of life, and we build skills to help them become more successful in whatever area they choose. My communication style My tone is calm and inviting. I want every client I serve to always feel safe. I don't take it lightly that people are coming to me to share some of the most intimate details of their life. You will always be treated with respect, no matter what your thoughts and feelings may be. We will work together to help you become the very best version of yourself. My journey to mental healthcare In addition to being a Licensed Professional Counselor, I am also a school counselor. I earned my MEd in School Counseling from Troy University. Even before starting my master's program, I knew I wanted to become a therapist and expand my clinical skill set. While I enjoy supporting students in schools, the limitations on providing long-term treatment motivated me to pursue licensure, allowing me to make a deeper impact in the lives of my clients.

Highly recommend. Nonjudgmental and lets the appointment take whatever shape you like. He’s a great listener— asks great questions.. and that’s only session one. He made me aware of feelings and patterns I hadn’t seen. Not to mention he’s Christian. Looking forward to meeting with him again.
