Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Rojelio! My name is Rojelio Olmedo. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from California State University Long Beach. As a bilingual therapist with over 15 years of experience, I believe forming a close working relationship with you is the most important aspect of treatment. My approach I have extensive knowledge of working from a Cognitive Behavioral Framework. I also utilize Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused Brief Therapy to help you meet your clinical needs and goals. My focus I have experience treating a variety of populations and mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, panic attacks, trauma, substance abuse, life adjustments, and relational problems. My communication style I provide a safe space for you to be your true and authentic self without judgment. This allows you to work toward being your best self and minimize or eliminate current distress. My journey to mental healthcare I grew up in a neighborhood lacking resources and wanted to make a difference. I began my career working with men and women recently released from prison, aiming to reduce recidivism by replacing unhealthy coping strategies with skills to lower the likelihood of returning to prison. Seeing their successes is inspiring, and I want to be part of your success too. My goals for you I will collaborate with you to help you reach your treatment goals. From our first appointment, we will work together to accomplish your desired outcomes in therapy. My first session with you Our first session will be an opportunity to get to know each other. I will introduce myself, share my background and education, and discuss what successful therapy looks like for you. We will then begin working toward this together.
