Getting to know Roman Coronado

Hi there, I'm Roman! Roman Coronado Jr., MSSW, LCSW, with a Master's in Social Work from the University of Texas, Rio Grande Valley. I am here to help you through this part of your journey. I am available to listen and allow you to be heard, understood, and validated. I want to help you make positive changes to feel better and have a different outlook on life. My approach I will use various approaches tailored to your needs, so your session will be unique to you. Approaches may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Coaching, Motivational Interviewing, Compassion Focused, Person-Centered, and Solution Focused. My focus I am available to work with adults and adolescents. You can count on me to provide an accepting and nurturing environment where you will have the opportunity to express yourself. My communication style When working with clients, you can expect a friendly and inviting environment. I will try to ensure you feel safe and able to express yourself freely. Most clients report enjoying their sessions as they feel comfortable. My journey to therapy I decided to become a therapist after working for several years with children who experienced some sort of trauma in their lives. After I began working with children, I started to work with adults and saw the need to offer my assistance and help empower clients so they may be able to make the changes necessary in their lives. My goals for you I approach goal setting as working as a team. I may offer suggestions; however, the client has the ultimate decision-making power. My first session with you During our first session, I will allow clients to talk about anything they may want to discuss and allow for questions and feedback. The first session is really about getting to know each other and how we may work together for a common goal.
