Ronald Cummings, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi, my name is Ron Cummings. I decided to become a therapist after dealing with panic disorder in my own life. For a while, I also had agoraphobia and was afraid to leave my house out of fear and anxiety over having a panic attack. This also led me to depression, overthinking that I might never be able to leave my home again and live normally. However, through therapy, I was able to recover, return to college, and obtain a teaching credential. During my time as a teacher, I realized that many of my students were having problems learning due to what they experienced in the world outside of school and at home. As a result, I returned to college and obtained an MA in Counseling Psychology from National University, California, in 2013, and then earned my full LMFT license with the state of California. Through the years, I have discovered that life does not always provide us a smoothly paved road. I experienced many things that tempted me to give up, but I was able to make it through these challenges due to the support of others and through therapy. This is the reason that I am a therapist-to help others receive the help they need. I believe in working collaboratively with my clients on goals they wish to reach, as well as overcoming anxiety, depression, relationship problems, and situational difficulties. I look to the past to address attachment issues from childhood that may inform the client's present. I have training in CBT, Solution Focused Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, EMDR, DBT, exposure therapy, and Gottman Couples Therapy. I use different therapies as they fit with the client.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
