Rosemary Parker

Psychotherapist
CA
I view therapy as a collaborative process with an overall goal of wellness. I look forward to meeting with you, exploring what wellness looks like for you, and together outlining the steps to get there. My focus is to create a safe space and provide support through those steps at whatever pace works for you. I view you as the expert on you, and approach the therapeutic process through a trauma-informed, culturally humble, and client-centered lens. I do not believe there is a one size fits all recipe for wellness, so I use an integrative approach to therapy, recognizing the strengths in several evidence-based practices/modalities including but not limited to: cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance committment therapy (ACT). I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization are Reprocessing therapy (EMDR). I will hold space for you, and together, we can explore which tools and techniques will best support you in accomplishing your wellness goals.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Current stressors? Is your past impeding your present? Trouble coping? Whether you're looking for a safe space to process current challenges, process past trauma, or develop coping skills to manage all of the things, I am here to support. I work with adults of all ages, working through complex trauma histories, life cycle crises, self-esteem issues, and inadequate coping abilities. Let's work together to improve your quality of life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Creating a safe space for you is a priority for me. My tone and words always aim to convey warmth, empathy, non-judgment, and unconditional positive regard. I use clear and open communication, promoting transparency and clarity. I practice active and reflective listening to ensure you are heard and understood. We will be partners in the therapy process, working together on the journey to your wellness. I will support you in identifying goals that are important to you and exploring steps that can be taken to accomplish them. Should you change your mind about the goals, steps, or selected interventions, no problem! We can update at any time.
