Getting to know Ruby Ruiz

Hello, my name is Ruby Ruiz. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Master's in Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University and over a decade of experience providing mental health services to individuals and families. I am committed to helping clients navigate life's challenges, build resilience, and work toward emotional well-being. My approach My therapeutic approach is person-centered and offers a non-judgmental space, empathy, and maybe a laugh or two. I integrate various therapeutic approaches that best fit the needs of my clients, including Trauma-Informed Care, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), somatic practices, and mindfulness techniques. My focus I have spent the majority of my career working in the non-profit sector, primarily supporting clients who struggle with PTSD, anxiety, depression, domestic violence, grief and loss, and family conflict. I help clients achieve their goals by utilizing evidence-based practices, teaching effective coping skills, and fostering a safe space for self-expression. My communication style My communication style is open, compassionate, and supportive. I utilize reflective listening, encourage open expression of emotions, and use growth-oriented speech. My first session with you Our first meeting will focus on building rapport and ensuring a good fit. Establishing trust and feeling comfortable with your therapist is essential to the therapeutic process. During this session, we will discuss your presenting concerns and review any completed assessments.
