Ruth Jean Jacques, LMFT

Psychotherapist
FL
Hi there, I'm Ruth! Hello, my name is Ruthie Jacques, and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Thomas University. I have a strong background in working with individuals, couples, and families struggling with a wealth of issues. I believe that you are the expert in your own life. I am simply a qualified friend who walks you through a myriad of challenges. There is no such thing as an expert! I am here to help. My approach My approach to therapy is based on individual needs and an open, non-judgmental stance. I believe in having a wealth of tools and treatment modalities to best serve your unique needs. My focus I have been in the field for many years and have extensive experience and comfort working with family conflict, couples issues, addiction, adolescents, and life transitions. My communication style I am instinctual and real. I do not follow scripts. My journey to therapy I started my career as an educator. I became so wrapped up in the issues affecting my students’ behaviors and performance that I placed math and science on the back burner. Eventually, my classroom became a talk therapy space for “at-risk” youth. Before long, parenting and family sessions were added to the mix. I stumbled upon my calling! My goals for you I believe in clear and achievable goals based on the client’s needs and wants.
