Getting to know Ruth Ramos-Hernandez

As a bilingual Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I bring eight years of experience supporting children, teens, and families as they work through challenges like depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and conduct-related concerns. I believe that therapy should be a collaborative process—one where you feel truly heard, supported, and empowered to take meaningful steps forward.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is rooted in evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Structural Family Therapy. I use these tools flexibly and thoughtfully, always tailoring my work to each person’s unique needs and strengths. Whether we're building coping skills, improving emotional regulation, or strengthening family dynamics, my goal is to help you feel equipped to handle whatever life throws your way. I hold both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Psychology from the City University of New York, with additional study in Women’s and Gender Studies. This background informs my commitment to inclusive, strengths-based care that respects the full complexity of each person’s experience.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When you are ready to get started, schedule an initial assessment visit (intake) through ZocDoc. After you book an appointment, a care coordinator will reach out to review your method of payment and/or insurance number and answer any initial questions you may have before our initial assessment visit.
