Ryan Chandler, AMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
I believe every person has a story worth telling, and healing begins with feeling seen, heard, and understood. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, burnout, family conflict, or life transitions, I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can be yourself and work toward meaningful, lasting change. I earned my Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy and have spent the past decade working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families across higher education, K-12 schools, community mental health, and private practice. My approach is collaborative, culturally responsive, and grounded in understanding the whole person—not just the symptoms. While I enjoy working with individuals from all walks of life, I have a particular passion for supporting musicians, artists, and professionals in the entertainment industry. I understand the unique pressures of creative careers, including performance anxiety, burnout, identity challenges, and relationship stress. Together, we’ll build on your strengths, develop practical tools, and create meaningful change so you can feel more confident, connected, and fulfilled. It is a privilege to walk alongside my clients as they heal and grow.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, and I believe one of the most important parts of the process is building a genuine, trusting relationship. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable being yourself without fear of judgment. I take a collaborative approach, balancing insight with practical strategies, while moving at a pace that feels right for you. Whether you’re seeking support through a difficult season or looking to create lasting change, we’ll work together to help you better understand yourself, strengthen your relationships, and build the life you want.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Every client is unique, so I tailor therapy to your individual needs and goals. During our first few sessions, we’ll spend time getting to know one another, exploring what brings you to therapy, and identifying what you hope to achieve. From there, we’ll work together to better understand the patterns that may be contributing to your current challenges while developing practical tools and strategies to support lasting growth. Throughout the process, I strive to create a collaborative, supportive environment where you feel heard, challenged, and empowered.
