“I've been seeing Saadia periodically for the past nine years, and working with her has truly changed my life. She listens attentively and has a remarkable eye for detail, always asking the right questions. She’s able to make connections in places I would have never seen on my own. There have been many times when I’ve walked into a session not knowing what to talk about, and left feeling like I had grown into a new person. At the end of each session, I always leave with actionable takeaways. Things to work on, tools I can use throughout my day, and questions to reflect on. Working with her has helped me grow into the person I am today.”

Getting to know Saadia Yunus

You may feel stuck in self-doubt, overthinking, or emotional reactivity that seems to take over before you can stop it. If you’re tired of second-guessing yourself and want to feel calm, confident, and grounded again, you’re in the right place. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with children, teens, and adults, helping people heal from trauma, anxiety, and relationship challenges by restoring trust in themselves and their inner wisdom. My work focuses on calming the nervous system, resolving past experiences that keep getting replayed in the present, and helping you respond to life with intention rather than react from stress or survival mode. I am EMDR-certified and integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS) in a warm, collaborative way that honors your pace and your story. Therapy with me is not about “fixing” you—it’s about helping you reconnect with your personal power so you can make decisions with clarity, feel emotionally steady, and live with greater ease and confidence. If you’re ready to stop being hijacked by old patterns and start feeling like yourself again, I’d be honored to support you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Working with Saadia isn’t about quick fixes or surface-level coping strategies. It’s about creating real, lasting change—rooted in clarity, safety, and self-trust. In your work together, you’ll learn how to slow things down enough to finally understand what’s happening inside you—without judgment, pressure, or being told to “just think positive.” You’ll build the skills to regulate your nervous system, set boundaries without guilt, and respond instead of react in relationships, parenting, and life. This work creates space for you to untangle old patterns, release emotional overload, and stop carrying what was never yours to hold. You’ll practice tools you can actually use in real life—during hard conversations, moments of anxiety, and times when you normally shut down or overgive. Clients often say they feel: More grounded and emotionally steady Clearer in their decisions and boundaries Less reactive and more confident in relationships Reconnected to themselves after years of putting everyone else first The process is supportive, direct, and deeply compassionate. You’ll be met where you are, while being gently challenged to step into the version of yourself that no longer settles, minimizes, or survives on autopilot. This is for people who are ready to stop repeating the same cycles—and start living with intention, self-respect, and emotional freedom.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

From our very first sessions, I incorporate evidence-based approaches like EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS) because they work. These methods help us get to the root of what’s driving anxiety, reactivity, and self-doubt—rather than just talking about the problem week after week. I begin by getting to know you as a whole person and creating a sense of safety and trust. At the same time, we start gently working with your nervous system so therapy feels grounding, not overwhelming. This early focus helps you feel more regulated, clear, and supported as we move forward. As we continue, EMDR and IFS are woven into the process in a thoughtful, collaborative way to help process past experiences, reduce emotional reactivity, and shift patterns that no longer serve you. I work with children, teens, and adults, and always adjust the pace and approach to meet your developmental needs and comfort level. Throughout therapy, the goal is to help you move from second-guessing yourself to trusting yourself again—so you can respond to life with intention, feel emotionally steady, and live from a place of personal power rather than survival mode.

Saadia was my therapist for a few years, and I always felt that she was attuned to what I had to say and made it a safe space to share my thoughts. I never felt judged, and knew she would be understand me in many lenses - as a Muslim woman trying to figure things out.
I can't recommend Saadia enough. From the very first session, I felt completely comfortable and supported, as man crying in therapy is a different experience, I've done it many times. She is an incredible listener, and her approach is thoughtful, compassionate, and effective. I’ve gained so many valuable tools to handle life’s challenges, and I genuinely feel more confident and empowered since working together. The environment she created feels safe and welcoming, making it easy to open up. She's always positive! If you're looking for someone who truly cares about your well being and is committed to your growth, hit up Saadia!
We are incredibly grateful for our couples therapist—she truly helped save our marriage. Her approach goes far beyond surface-level conflict resolution. She focuses on regulating the nervous system when conversations become heated, which completely changed how we show up for one another during difficult moments. What makes her exceptional is her deep understanding of language and communication. She listens closely to words, tone, and intention, and helps translate emotions in a way that creates clarity instead of defensiveness. I’ve never worked with a therapist who understands how powerful words are in a relationship the way she does. She is thoughtful, insightful, and deeply effective. We now communicate with more compassion, awareness, and emotional safety than we ever have before. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
As a man, it isn’t easy to go to therapy. I’ve been seeing Saadia Yunus for over two years, and she’s helped me navigate family dynamics, marriage discussions, work, and school. She’s been great. She understands conversations with cultural and religious nuance. I see her less often now, but I know I can easily book an appointment and she will respond and accommodate for me in a timely manner.
