“Strength doesn't come from what you can do; it comes from overcoming the things you once thought you couldn't.” Hello, my name is Sam Lakes, LISW-S. I received my Master's Degree in Social Work from Miami University/Wright State in 2015 and obtained my Independent Social Work license in 2020, with my Supervision designation in 2022. I firmly believe in a client-centered environment where it's my job to meet you where you are and walk alongside you. I am trauma-certified through the TLC trauma model and specialize in many diagnoses such as PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, ODD, and attachment disruptions. My approach I provide services with a trauma-informed approach, believing that a strong therapeutic relationship and processing can help individuals overcome their current symptoms or life changes. My focus I have spent the majority of my career as a home-based therapist, working with youth ages 4 to 21 and their families with multiple mental health diagnoses, with a high percentage of clients experiencing complex trauma symptoms. I follow an approach that sees the family as a whole, aiming to improve the overall system and not just a piece of the puzzle. My communication style My goal is to provide a calm, safe space for the clients I serve to feel comfortable discussing difficult situations. I believe it's very important for clients to have the ability to be open without reluctance. My goals for you Goal setting is client-focused. I spend time working with my clients to help them create realistic, obtainable goals that they feel are important to them.
