She earned a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marymount University in Arlington, VA, and a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. Samantha is currently a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). In the counseling setting, Samantha strives to create an authentic and genuine connection with her clients. She believes in the strength of the therapeutic alliance and works to meet clients where they are by utilizing a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rogerian, and Mindfulness approaches. She believes this blend provides clients with a safe space where they can grow and challenge themselves while receiving unconditional support. Samantha’s goal as a therapist is to help clients recognize and embrace their strengths while providing psychoeducation and coping skills to relieve distress. Her prior experience includes working with individuals, couples, and groups.
